The role of state media outlets and media outlets funded by public funds that produce propaganda and hate speech is often left out of the debate about the current digital disinformation landscape.
Nevertheless the financing model that channels public money into propaganda outlets via state advertising contracts or government grants appears in multiple EU states and demands greater focus of international community focusing on the issue of disinformation and propaganda. The panel participants will focus on the issue of Slovenia and Greece in this regard but will also offer insight into the underlying issue of this problem that will hopefully be useful in addressing the root of this issue.
